The STRONG project
EXPLORE

For Young People lacking in confidence, dealing with social issues

and/or disengaging from school

In consultation with schools we design individually tailored programs to suit the needs of a specific group of students.

These programs focus on increasing the personal strengths of the participants and are delivered in small group settings with no more than 10 participants.

The programs run for the duration of a single term or across a number of terms with each session lasting for one 50-60 minute period.

Examples of current programs include:

The STRONG project
Feeling STRONG – STRONG young women
This program focuses on building resilience, confidence and goal setting skills for young women.
Ideal for girls in years 7 – 10.

These programs begin with a focus on the self and slowly turn the lens outward to consider the individual's place in their school and home communities, then their wider community.

This program focuses on supporting young men to discover the qualities they, and society, value in good men – and what that means.
Arts practice outcomes can be, but are not limited to – a short film, a song, an exhibition.
This program involves outdoor work and physical exercise.
Positive Relationships

  • Positive relationships at home and at school

I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands where I work and live. I pay my respects to the Elders of the past and those of the present.
I celebrate the stories, culture, knowledge and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
and acknowledge their deep connection to the land, rivers and oceans we are on.
I respect that this land always was and always will be traditional Aboriginal land and maintain the hope that we can work together to celebrate and truly acknowledge this fact.
