The STRONG project
CREATE

For Young People who want to solve issues through creative thinking

In consultation with schools we design individually tailored programs to suit the needs of the participants working with a small group of specific students.
These programs focus on finding creative ways to address complex issues. We encourage the participants to explore these issues to find and understand both personal and group perspectives.
Delivered in small group settings with no more than 10 participants these programs aim to develop life skills, and creative and strategic thinking whilst also creating an arts based outcome.

Examples of these outcomes could be an exhibition, a short film or a song.
These programs generally run for 2 terms.
Each group of students works on developing a project that can be shared with the wider school community.

Examples of current programs include:

Create a project
This program looks at the steps required to create a real world project.

The young people involved are given the opportunity to propose, plan and produce a project in their school that will have a positive impact on their peers and school community. This could be a day of celebration, a mental health day or an event that has relevance for the school.

We examine ways to share these learnings with the wider school community.

There will be a legal expert as a guest speaker.

Arts practice outcomes can be, but are not limited to a short film, a song, or exhibition.

I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands where I work and live. I pay my respects to the Elders of the past and those of the present.
I celebrate the stories, culture, knowledge and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
and acknowledge their deep connection to the land, rivers and oceans we are on.
I respect that this land always was and always will be traditional Aboriginal land and maintain the hope that we can work together to celebrate and truly acknowledge this fact.
